Attorney Angela M. Lopez joined Badmus Law Firm in April 2003. Since that time, she has exclusively concentrated her legal practice to the immigration field.

As an immigrant herself, Angela understands the importance of competent and cost-effective legal advice for businesses and individuals.  At a personal level, she enjoys building long-term relationships with each person she represents.

Angela has successfully developed a large national practice representing numerous foreign nationals, their employers, and our rapidly growing segment of Spanish-speaking clients in a broad range of immigration matters.  Her extensive experience in corporate and employment-based immigration includes employer labor certifications, religious workers (R-1), executives/managers (L-1), Investors (E), professional workers (H-1B) nurses, and physicians.  Ms. Lopez has also represented numerous clients in family-based immigration cases.

In the medical industry, Angela’s clients range from individual physicians to small private practices to Hospitals and National Health Centers.  she has guided physicians and their employers through J-1 waivers, H1-B, O-1 and permanent residence applications based upon labor certification, extraordinary ability aliens and national interest waivers nationwide.

In 1989, Angela began her career as a Deputy District Attorney and Town Solicitor in Colombia, South America. In 1993, she worked with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in Hampden County, as a Family Service Officer, gaining experience in Family Law, mediation and investigative services. In 1997, Angela was a founding partner in “Mediation Works,” a mediation center and dispute resolution service in Springfield, MA.

After relocating to Texas in 1998, Angela completed her Masters in International and Comparative Law (LLM) at SMU in Dallas. During and after her Masters work, Angela worked with Alcon Laboratories, a Fortune 500 Company, in their International Legal Department, assisting Alcon affiliates worldwide on a broad range of issues related to International Business transactions.

Angela is licensed to practice in Colombia, South America and State of New York. She continues her education by participating in various immigration seminars and focused continuing education courses.  Ms. Lopez is also a frequent speaker about immigration issues to interested groups such as Chambers of Commerce and other community organizations.
